As the race to TGMC whistled all the folks start downloading IBM tools but itz still a tough task to install them(not-Kidding).
so here is the process to install DB2 Express-C
1. Download latest version of DB2 from here.
2. Extract it using " tar -zxvf path_to_downloaded_package"
Now i assume this is done so i am going to write only commands.
here it is:
5.sudo /opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/instance/dascrt -u db2das1
6.sudo /opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/instance/db2icrt -a server -u db2fenc1 db2inst1
8.LOGIN AS DB2INST1 # using "su db2inst1"
12.svcename db2c_db2inst1 #update database manager configuration using svcename db2c_db2inst1
13.get database manager config
16.login as db2inst1 # using "su db2inst1"
17.create database bitsoi
18.connect to bitsoi user db2inst1
20.create table myTest (name varchar(10))
21.insert into myTest (name) values ('bitsofinfo')
22.select * from myTest
This is all about Installing and configuring DB2 in Kernel 3.25 and above.
Now it may be possible that you need to uninstall it.
so here the commands are:
1.login as db2das1
4.login as db2inst1
7.sudo /opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/instance/db2idrop db2inst1
8.sudo /opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/install/db2_deinstall -a
NOTE- believe me you never wanna uninstall is as it pains like hell.
i know you will still feel uncomfortable so mail me at- infekted(at)msn(dot)com.
NO ABUSES PLZ.
